Since the middle of last year, JSC Timber Terminal «Factor» initiated a project to open a Grain warehouse in the Port of Ust-Luga.
The project was implemented in conjunction with the largest railway infrastructure operator for the transport of agricultural and mineral raw bulk cargo in specialized hopper cars.
Transshipment technology includes:
- Acceptance of bulk cargo in hopper wagons;
- Transfer to a warehouse from a receiving hopper through a conveyor system;
- Loading along the conveyor chain directly from the warehouse into the hold of the vessel.
The first vessel using this technology was successfully sent on June 6, 2016.
